Role
Consumes food offerings to boost item drop rates and rare material chances across the entire area.
How to unlock
Break into his cave in northern Bleak Beach with Rock Smash, power the shell lamp inside with a Generate-specialty Pokémon, then build a Gourmet’s Altar and feed him.
Before you start
- Own a Pokémon that knows the Rock Smash move.
- Recruit a Pokémon with the Generate specialty (e.g. Pawmi).
- Unlock the Gourmet’s Altar habitat.
Quest walkthrough
Head to the far north of Bleak Beach. A cave entrance is sealed behind breakable rocks — use Rock Smash to open it.
Inside the cave you’ll find Mosslax asleep beside an unlit shell lamp.
Have a Generate-specialty Pokémon (e.g. Pawmi) power the shell lamp. Light fills the cave.
Build a Gourmet’s Altar inside the cave and place any food item on its Offering Dish.
Mosslax wakes and eats. He returns to napping between meals — you can feed him again after sunrise the next in-game day.
What you unlock
- Each food flavour you offer has a different area-wide effect on Bleak Beach:
- Spicy — raises Bloom and spawn rates.
- Bitter — better odds on rare item drops.
- Sweet — better odds on fossils and artifacts.
- Sour — better shop stock quality.
- Dry — raises the drop rate of Silver and Rainbow Feathers (Lugia/Ho-Oh).
- No Flavour — gives a flat friendship boost across the area.
