Day, Night & Weather

Pokopia has a real-time day-night cycle and per-biome weather. Both influence which Pokémon show up and when.

The Pokopia clock

Pokopia uses a real-time day-night cycle — the in-game time of day follows your Nintendo Switch 2 system clock. Four time slots rotate across a single day: Morning, Day, Evening, and Night.

Different Pokémon appear during different slots, and many habitats only attract certain species at specific times. If a Pokémon you're looking for isn't showing up, the current time slot is one of the first things to check.

The four time slots

Morning

The start of the daily cycle. Some species only appear before the sun fully rises.

Day

Standard daylight — the broadest pool of Pokémon. Most common species appear during the day in at least one biome.

Evening

Warm, late-day light. A handful of species prefer the golden-hour window.

Night

Dark sky. Ghost, Dark, and Psychic-type Pokémon are more likely here; several are night-exclusive.

Every Pokémon's available time slots are listed on its Pokédex entry. To narrow down the current roster, use the Pokédex search & filters — filter by Biome + Specialty + Rarity to see what's currently findable.

Weather conditions

Weather is per-biome. There are four conditions in the game: Sunny, Cloudy, Rain, and Snowy. Each Pokémon has a list of weather conditions it can appear in, and the biome itself influences which conditions roll most often.

The four weather conditions

Sunny

Clear sky. Many Grass and Fire-adjacent Pokémon prefer sunny weather.

Cloudy

Overcast. The broadest-compatible weather; most species can appear in Cloudy conditions.

Rain

Wet weather. Water-type Pokémon and several Bug types appear more often in Rain.

Snowy

Cold and snowy. The rarest of the four — largely confined to Sparkling Skylands and Ice-type habitats.

Castform weather charms

Castform's form shifts with the weather. You can build its habitats with weather charm to display the matching form. If Castform lives in a biome, its presence also subtly influences the weather toward its current form.

How weather and comfort interact

A biome's weather affects habitat Comfort Levels: Pokémon whose preferred weather matches the current condition gain Comfort faster. Build with the biome's natural weather in mind, not against it.

Not sure what a Pokémon's preferred weather is? Every Pokédex entry lists Available Weather alongside the time slots. Filter by a specific weather on the Pokédex (via the Rarity/Biome chips) to narrow down candidates for your current conditions.
