Magnet Rise

The most powerful Ditto transformation. Unlocked after the story, it turns you into a free-flying builder that can place and pick up items in ways no other form can.

Unlocking Magnet Rise

Finish the main story (including the Team Initiation Challenge). After the Team R rocket launches, search the crater where the rocket stood. You’ll find a Magnemite hiding underneath that teaches you Magnet Rise.

Magnet Rise uses PP per use, so keep a stock of PP-restoring items on hand.

Building mode

The headline feature. As a human you can place one block at a time; in Magnet Rise you can place up to 9 blocks in a single action. You can rotate the shape between vertical and horizontal, and switch to Replace mode to swap one block type for another in place (e.g. replace 9 Cliff Rocks with Field Grass, with the old blocks going into your inventory).

Break feature

Press Ynear an item to break it down and pick up the resulting resource. Plants yield seeds; Worn Lumber becomes Lumber. It uses less PP than Rock Smash or Cut for equivalent jobs, and it’s faster.

Hold and charge the button to pick up the whole item intact into your bag — this is the only way to grab certain things (Stone Debris, Broken Streetlights, partially grown plants).

Items only obtainable via Magnet Rise
